Mini Building Management System
Introduction
- The t-mac mini Building Energy Management System (BMS) provides all the benefits of a standard BMS but for smaller buildings. Remotely accessible, the t-mac mini BMS can manage, amend and control building and equipment performance without the need to be on-site.
- The t-mac mini BMS also features a unique front-end portal designed to make BMS operations easy, particularly for those who manage BMS strategies for a global network of sites.
The Solution
- A t-mac mini BMS provides not only metering and monitoring, but also enables control.
- By connecting t-mac to lighting, heating, air-conditioning, refrigeration, compressors and other energy intensive equipment within a building or site, the mini BMS highlights opportunities for energy reduction by identifying unnecessary use and manages this equipment to enable cost savings.
- A t-mac BMS also:
- Manages time-clocks which run equipment within a building and are usually out of sync.
- Manages temperature set-point control to remove the variation caused by staff increasing and decreasing temperature within the building.

BMS Operational Platform
The BMS operational platform plays a crucial part in the BMS management, reporting and programming. It provides the functionality to:
- Implement and manage portfolio-wide control strategies.
- Group sites together, allowing multi-site updates to be implemented with one click.
- Create exceptions and overrides for one-off and recurring events.
- Configure one or many t-mac units to be linked to a site, site changes will automatically filter to the correct t-mac unit.
- Import and manage details of business locations and opening hours.
- Provide help and feedback
The landing page shows an overview of alerts and information from one or many t-mac sites.
This can be viewed in the below example, by clicking on the above icons to access heating for a graph of the current heating controls strategy. At the touch of a button users can (if access provided) change the control strategy for BMS applications such as heating, lighting and air conditioning.

Fast Facts
- Smaller buildings can benefit from the intelligence often available only to operators of larger premises.
- Continuous monitoring, control and asset-management of all activities within a building, from HVAC&R equipment to multi-storey properties.
- Remote management of building operations, equipment performance and use.
- Remote maintenance and diagnostics for pro-active facilities management.
- Wasted energy can be saved through t-mac’s intelligent energy management system.
- Improve the way energy is managed and potentially cut lighting costs by as much as 45 per cent.
- There is a potential saving of up to 6per cent for every 1ºC lowered on a thermostat.
