iButton
An iButton contains a unique ID similar to a Smart Card; it is housed within a small stainless steel casing (17mm x 3mm) so that it can be easily attached to a key-ring. iButtons have an advantage over conventional smart cards in terms of durability and longevity. The stainless steel casing gives iButton a far greater ability to survive in a range of temperatures and severe range of environments such as exposure to salt water and long-term exposure to physical impacts.
t-mac Technologies iButton reader has many applications from time and attendance, to security patrol monitoring, confidential waste auditing, service engineer tracking and much more. The iButton reader communicates via an RS485 Modbus interface to a master such as t-mac.
